ENGLISH:
"It was once said to 'Alqamah: 'Won't you sit in the masjid so that the people may gather around you and ask you questions and so that we may sit with you? For indeed, they ask individuals that are lower than you (in knowledge).' So 'Alqamah said: 'Indeed, I hate that people walk behind me saying: This is 'Alqamah! This is 'Alqamah!"

ENGLISH:
"A worshipper of Bani Israel worshipped Allah for forty years in a deserted land. The Angels brought his actions to the heavens, but they were not accepted (by Allah). The angels said: "By the Glory of our Lord, we brought you nothing but hidden actions". Allaah said: "O my angels, you have spoken the truth, but he wanted to become known by it".
