"The hypocrites in the Masajid ..."

Al-Zamakhshari narrates :

مالك بن دينار: أن المنافقين في المساجد كالعصافير في القفص

ENGLISH:

Malik bin Dinar said: "The hypocrites in the Masajid are like birds in cages."

NEDERLANDS:

Malik Ibn Dinar zei: "De huichelaars in de Masajid , zijn zoals vogels in kooien."

"The intention of a believer"

It has been narrated :

عن سهل بن سعد الساعدي قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : نية المؤمن خير من عمله ، وعمل المنافق خير من نيته  رواه الطبراني ، وفيه حاتم بن عباد بن دينار ، ولم أعرفه ، وبقية رجاله ثقات

ENGLISH:

"... The intention of a believer is better than his actions and the actions of a hypocrite are better than his intention." It has been narrated by Al-Tabarani , and in it's chan is Haatim bin Ibaad bin Dinar and I do not know him. The rest of the narrators are trustworthy."

NEDERLANDS:

"... De intenties van een gelovige zijn beter dan zijn daden en de daden van de huichelaar zijn beter dan zijn intenties." Dit is overgeleverd door Al-Tabarani , en in de keten is Haatibn bin Ibaad bin Dinar en ik ken hem niet. De rest van de overleveraars zijn betrouwbaar."

"The knowledge of a believer"

'Abdu Allaah ben Al-Mu'taz said:

علم المنافق في قوله وعلم المؤمن في عمله

ENGLISH:

"The knowledge of a hypocrite is in his speech, while the knowledge of a believer is in his actions."

NEDERLANDS:

"De kennis van de huigelaar (munafiq) presenteert zich in zijn woorden (qawl), en de kennis van de gelovige (mu'min) presenteert zich in zijn daden (amal)".

["Iqtidaa-u al'ilmi al'amal", 38].

"Is it possible that an hypocrite cries?"

It's narrated in "Hilyat Al-Awliya":

سُألَ عبّادٌ شميطَ بنَ عَجلان: هل يبكي المنافقُ؟ فقالَ: يبكي من رأسِهِ، فأما قلبُهُ فلا
حلية الاولياء 3/129

ENGLISH:

Shamit bin Ajlaan was asked: "Is it possible that an munafiq (hypocrite) cries (out of fear of Allaah)?" He said: "His head cries, but his heart? Then no!"

NEDERLANDS:

Shamit bin Ajlaan werd gevraagd: "Is het mogelijk dat een huichelaar huilt (i.e. uit vrees voor Allaah)?" Hij zei: "Zijn hoofd huilt wel, maar zijn hart? Welnee!"

"He plants a thorny tree"

Shaqiq Al-Balkhi said:

مثل المؤمن مثل من غرس نخلة يخاف أن تحمل شوكا ومثل المنافق مثل من زرع شوكا يطمع أن يحمل تمرا هيهات

ENGLISH:

"The believer (mu'min) is like a man who plants a palm-tree and fears that it will have a single thorn growing on it, while the hypocrite is like the one who plants a thorny tree in hopes that it will bear fruit".

NEDERLANDS:

"Het voorbeeld van een gelovige is zoals iemand die een palmboom plant en vreest dat er een doorn aan zal groeien, en het voorbeeld van de huichelaar is zoals iemand die doorn plant en hoopt dat het fruit zal voortbrengen!"

“The hypocrites among you today"

Hudhaifah has said:

“المنافقون الذين فيكم شر من المنافقين الذين كانوا على عهد الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم؛ فقيل له: وكيف ذلك؟ فقال: أولئك كانوا يسرون نفاقهم، وإن هؤلاء يعلنون”

ENGLISH:

“The hypocrites among you today are worse than the hypocrites who lived at the time of the Messenger of Allah!”  He was asked: “O Aba ‘Abdillah, how is this so?”  He replied: “They used to hide their hypocrisy. As for the ones today, they display it openly.”

NEDERLANDS:

“De munafiqien die nu onder jullie leven zijn erger dan de munafiqien die in de tijd van de Boodschapper van Allaah (vrede zij met hem) leefden”. Hij werd gevraagd: “Hoe kan dat?” Hij zei: “Zij zouden hun huichelarij verstoppen en dezen tonen het openlijk!”
