"Nothing breaks the back of Iblees like ..."

Ad-Dhahabi writes in Siyar A'lam Al-Nubala:

يوسف بن أسباط : سمعت الثوري يقول : ليس شيء أقطع لظهر إبليس من قول : لا إله إلا الله

ENGLISH:

Yusuf bin Asbaat said: "I heard Al-Thawri say: Nothing breaks the back of Iblees (the devil) like saying: Laa ilaha il Allaah!"

NEDERLANDS:

Yusuf bin Asbaat zei: "Ik hoorde Al-Thawri zeggen: Niets breekt de rug van Iblees (de duivel) zoals het zeggen van: Laa ilaha il Allaah!"

Ibrahim Ibn Adham said:

لو يعلم الملوك وأبناء الملوك ما نحن فيه من النعيم لجالدونا عليه بالسيوف

ENGLISH:

"We are living in such sweetness that if kings knew about it, they would fight us over it with their swords".

Haafiz Ibn Taymiyah said:

إن في الدنيا جنة من لم يدخلها لم يدخل جنة الآخـــرة

ENGLISH:

"Indeed there is a Paradise in this world (i.e. he means the sweetness of imaan); whoever does not enter it will not enter the Paradise of the hereafter".

NEDERLANDS:

"Voorwaar, er is een paradijs op aarde (i.e. de zoetheid van iman) en wie haar niet binnentreedt zal het paradijs van het hiernamaals ook niet binnentreden!"
