"I saw the handwriting of Abu 'Abdillah"

Al-Khatib al-Baghdaadi said:

رأيت بخط أبي عبد الله أحمد بن محمد بن حنبل في عدة أحاديث اسم النبي , ولم يكتب الصلاة عليه , وبلغني أنه كان يصلي على النبي نطقاً لا خطاً , وقد خالفه غيره من الأئمة المتقدمين في ذلك

ENGLISH:

"I saw the handwriting of Abu 'Abdillah Ahmad bin Hambal of many ahadith in which the Prophet was mentioned, and he would not write 'sall Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam' after his name. I was informed that he used to invoke peace and blessings upon the Prophet by his tongue, and not in writing."

NEDERLANDS:

Muziek is Haram

Ibn Qudamah al-Hanbali zegt:

الملاهي ثلاثة أضرب ؛ محرم ، وهو ضرب الأوتار والنايات والمزامير كلها ، والعود والطنبور والمعزفة والرباب ونحوها ، فمن أدام استماعها ردت شهادته
"Muziekale instrumenten zijn van drie soorten en ze zijn allemaal haram. Tot dezen behoren de fiool en alle soorten fluiten en de blaas, de trommel en de rabaab enzovoort. Degene die zich hierin volhardt, zijn getuigenis wordt verworpen".

"He will be thrown into a well like a dog"

Ibn Najim said:

المرتد أما المرتد فلا يغسل ، ولا يكفن ، وإنما يلقى في حفيرة كالكلب

ENGLISH:

"The murtad will not be washed or shrouded, he will be thrown into a well like a dog".

NEDERLANDS:

"De murtad wordt niet gewassen of gewikkeld; hij wordt als een hond in een put gegooid".

"It is forbidden to shave the beard"

Ibn Abd al-Barr said:

يحرم حلق اللحية ولا يفعله إلا المخنثون من الرجال

ENGLISH:

"It is forbidden to shave the beard, and no one does this except men who are effeminate".

NEDERLANDS:

"Het is verboden om de baard te scheren en niemand doet dit onder de mannen behalve een verwijfde".

“There is no report on female-circumcision"

Ibn al-Mundhir said:

ليس في الختان خبر يرجع إليه, ولا سند يتبع

ENGLISH:

“There is no report on female-circumcision that can be relied upon and no chain of transmission that can be followed”

NEDERLANDS:

"Er is geen khabar (overlevering) over vrouwenbesnijdenis waarop teruggevallen kan worden en er is ook geen sanad (authentieke bewijs) die gevolgd dient te worden".
