ReplyDeleteThe hadeeth: When a husband and wife look at each other with Love, Allaah looks at both with Mercy [Bukhari 6:19 & Tirmidhi 14:79], becomes viral, this hadeeth is lovely unfortunately it is fabricated, this hadeeth can’t be found in Saheeh Bukhariy nor in sunan At-Tirmidhiy, but the same hadeeth can be found in Silsilatu Al-Ahaadeeth Ad-Daeefa wa Al-Mawdu’a of Imaam Al-Albaniy rahimahullaah #3274, he said:
(إن الرجل إذا نظر إلى امرأته ونظرت إليه؛ نظر الله إليهما نظرة رحمة، فإذا أخذ بكفها؛ تساقطت ذنوبهما من خلال أصابعهما). موضوع أخرجه الرافعي في “تاريخه” (2/ 47) معلقاً عن ميسرة بن علي في “مشيخته” بسنده عن الحسين بن معاذ الخراساني عن إسماعيل بن يحيى التيمي عن مسعر بن كدام عن العوفي عن أبي سعيد الخدري قال: قال رسول الله – صلى الله عليه وسلم -: … فذكره.
قلت: وهذا موضوع؛ آفته التيمي هذا؛ كان يضع الأحاديث وله أباطيل وبلايا تقدم بعضها. والحسين بن معاذ قريب منه؛ قال الخطيب: “ليس بثقة، حديثه موضوع”.
“Verily when a man looks at his wife and she looks at him, Allaah will look at them both with glance of Mercy, when he takes her hand their sins will be wiped away thru their fingers” (This is) FABRICATED, reported by Ar-Raafi’iy in his Taarikh (2/47( commenting on Maysara bin ‘Aliy in his Mashaykha with its chain of narration from Al-Hussain bin Mu’aadh Al-Khurasaaniy who narrated from Ismaa’eel bin Yahya At-Taymiy from Mis’ar bin Kidaam from Al-‘Awfiy from Abiy Sa’eed Al-Khudriy who said: The messenger of Allaah peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him: and the he mentioned the hadeeth:
I say (regarding this hadeeth): This is FABRICATED, damaged by this At-Taymiy, he is known to fabricate ahadeeth and he has false and troublesome narrations which some of it were already mentioned, and Husain bin Mu’aadh is almost like him, Al-Khateeb said (regarding him): He is not trustworthy and his hadeeth is fabricated. [End Quote]
Be warned, lying upon the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam would result to entering the hellfire! The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said:
I heard the Prophet saying, “Whoever (intentionally) ascribes to me what I have not said then (surely) let him occupy his seat in Hell-fire.” [Saheeh Al-Bukhaariy]

خلاصة حكم المحدث: صحيح
Anyhow, it's a hadith regarding fadhaa'il al-a'maal so even the dhaa'eef ahadith are acceptable.
