"I do not say that it shaves hair..." - Hadith

Az-Zubair ibn Awwam reported: The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

دبَّ إليكم داء الأمم قبلكم الحسد والبغضاء هي الحالقة لا أقول تحلق الشعر ولكن تحلق الدين

ENGLISH:

"The diseases of the former peoples are creeping towards you, envy and hatred, and it is a razor; I do not say that it shaves hair, but rather it shaves the religion."

NEDERLANDS:

"Er is tot jullie gekomen de ziekte van de naties voor jullie, jaloezie en haat. Dit is de "scheerder". Ik zeg niet dat het de haren scheert, maar het scheert (vernietigt) het geloof."
