قال أحمد بن حرب : إن أحدنا يؤثر الظل على الشمس ثم لا يؤثر الجنة على النار
ENGLISH:
"Verily one of us prefers shade over standing in the sun, but we won’t prefer Paradise over the Fire!"
NEDERLANDS:
"Voorwaar, sommigen van ons geven voorrang aan schaduw boven zon, maar niet aan het Paradijs boven Vuur!"

Ad-Dhahabi writes :
وكان يضع أصبعه على المصباح ، ثم يقول : حس ويقول : ما حملك يا أحنف على أن صنعت كذا يوم كذا
ENGLISH:
"... Al-Ahnaf ibn Qayss used to approach the lamp and put his finger in it then say: “Feel it! O Ahnaf, feel it. Why did you do what you did in such and such day?!”
NEDERLANDS:
"... Al-Ahnaf ibn Qayss zou zijn vinger tegen de olielamp plaatsen, en zeggen: "Voel het! O Ahnaf, wat ging jou aansporen om zus en zo te doen op zus en zo dag?!"

"Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab said: "Remind them of the Fire (Hell), for certainly it’s heat is high, its bottom is deep, it's drink is pus and its weapon is iron".

"Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab zei: "Je moet hen aan het Vuur (der Hel) herineren, want voorwaar, haar hitte is hevig, haar bodem is diep, haar drank is pus en haar wapens zijn ijzer".

"If there was a huge stone as big as seven khalifaat stones, and it was thrown from the edge of Hell it would fly through it for seventy years before it reached the bottom".

ENGLISH:
"The kaafir's skin will be 42 cubits thick and his molars will be like mount Uhud and the space he occupies will be as wide as the distance between Makkah and Madinah (500 km)".

"De dikte van de huid van de kaafir zal gelijk zijn aan tweeënveertig ellen en zijn kies zal even groot zijn als de berg Uhud en zijn zitplaats in de Hel zal zoals het afstand tussen Mekka en Medina (500 km) zijn”.

It has been narrated with a Sahih chain:
قال رسول الله لجبريل عليه السلام : ما لي لم أر ميكائيل ضاحكا قط ? قال : ما ضحك ميكائيل منذ خلقت النار
ENGLISH:
Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah said to Jibril: "Why is it that I never see Mika'il smiling?" Jibril replied: "Mika'il has not smiled since Hell was Created."

Anas Ibn Malik heeft overgeleverd dat de Profeet aan Jibrail vroeg: “Waarom heb ik Mikail nooit zien lachen?” Jibrail antwoordde: “Mikail heeft niet gelachen vanaf de dag dat de Hel was geschapen”.

"The molar of the kaafir will be like Uhud, and the thickness of his skin will be seventy cubits. His upper arm will be like al-Bayda' (a famous city in Moroco), his thigh like (the city of) Warqaan and the space he occupies will be like the distance between me and ar-Rabdhah".
NEDERLANDS:

"The distance between the shoulders of the Kafir in Hell will be like three day's travelling for a fast rider".
