"Be to my son , as you were to me"

It was narrated by some of the Salaf that:

  ان داود عليه السلام قال إلهي كن لسليمان كما كنت لي فأوحى الله إليه ان قل لسليمان ان يكون لي كما كنت لي أكون له كما كنت لك

ENGLISH:

The Prophet Dawud ('alaihi as-Salam) said: "My Lord, be to my son Sulaiman, as you were to me." So Allah (Glorified is He) inspired to him that: "Tell Sulaiman to be for me as you were to me, and surely I will be to him as I were to you."

NEDERLANDS:

De Profeet Dawud zei: "O mijn Heer! Behandel mijn zoon Sulaiman, zoals U mij hebt behandeld." Dus Allaah openbaarde aan hem: "Zeg tegen Sulaiman om Mij te behandelen zoals jij Mij hebt behandeld, dan zal Ik hem behandelen zoals Ik jou heb behandeld."
