"Attributing ignorance to the Sahaba"

Shaykh Al-Suhaymee was asked about people who attribute ignorance to the Sahaba, due to the Ayah: "But man undertook it; He was indeed unjust and ignorant". (33:72), he said:

لا يقرّره إلا من هو أجهل من حمار أهله , بل من جهّل الصحابة فهو الجاهل ومقصود الأية غير ما يتصور هؤلاء الجهلة المساكين الذين اعتمدوا على علم الكلام فخربت عندهم الأفهام لأن علم الكلام خطير , علم المنطق صرف الناس عن كتاب الله جلّ وعلا وهدي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

ENGLISH:

"Nobody says this, except the one who is more astray than his family's donkey. In fact, the one who attributes ignorance to the Sahaba, he himself is the ignorant one! And the interpretation of the verse is other than what these ignorants claim. These masakin are afflicted with Ilmul-Kalam, which has ruined their understanding. Al-Kalam is very dangerous, it's the sciences of logic. It has kept people away from the Book of Allah and the teachings of his Messenger".
