"It were scrolls of knowledge"

The story of Khidr and Musa, peace be upon them:

18:77. "And they found therein a wall upon the point of falling into ruin, and he repaired it. (Moses) said: If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken payment for it".
18:82. "And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them, and their father had been righteous, and thy Lord intended that they should come to their full strength and should bring forth their treasure as a mercy from their Lord (Allah subhanahu wa Ta'ala)".

Khateeb Al-Baghdadi writes:

عن سعيد بن جبير عن ابن عباس وكان تحته كنز لهما  قال ما كان ذهباً ولا فضة  قال صحفاً علماً
قال الحسن بن صالح  : وأي كنز أفضل من العلم

ENGLISH:

"On the authority of Sa’eed bin Jubayr that Ibn ‘Abbas said concering the verse: "And underneath it [ie the wall] was a treasure belonging to them [the orphans]": "[This treasure] was neither gold nor silver, rather it was scrolls of knowledge". Al-Hasan ibn Saalih said: "And what treasure could be better then knowledge!"

Sa'ied Ibn Jubair heeft overgeleverd over de woorden: "En eronder lag een schat die bestemd was voor hen", dat Ibn Abbas daarover zei: "(De schat) was geen goud of zilver, het waren scrollen van kennis". Hassan bin Salih zei: "En welke kanz (schat) is beter dan kennis?"
