"If you've spoken the truth"

It's narrated in Tarikh Al-Dimashq:

أسمع رجل الشعبي كلاما ، فقال له الشعبي : إن كنت صادقا ؛ فغفر الله لي ، وإن كنت كاذبا ؛ فغفر الله لك



ENGLISH:

"A man said something about Al-Shu'bee, so he replied to him by saying: If you've spoken the truth may God forgive me, and if you're a liar may God forgive you".

NEDERLANDS:

"Een man zei iets over Al-Shu'bee, waarop hij tegen hem zei: Als jij de waarheid hebt gesproken, moge Allah mij vergeven en als jij een leugenaar bent, moge Allah jou vergeven".

  2. I do actually have a facebook account for these narrations, it's called "1001 narrations of the SALAF". I started, but couldn't be bothered to update it, and now you remind me, I might actually get back onto it.
