Sa'dee Al-Shirazee wrote in his "Gulistan":

هنر بنماي اگر داري نه گوهر گل از خارست و ابرهیم از آزر

ENGLISH:

"Display thy virtue if thou hast any, not thy origin
The rose is the offspring of thorns and Abraham of Azer".

NEDERLANDS:
