"I haven't eaten any meat!"

Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud said:

كنا عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقام رجل فوقع فيه رجل من بعده ، فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم : تخلل . قال : مِم أتخلل ؟ ما أكلت لحمًا قال : إنك أكلت لحم أخيك

ENGLISH:

“We were with the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) when a man got up and left, whereupon another man immediately started backbiting him. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "Clean the bits of meat from between your teeth!" The man asked: "What should I clean from between my teeth? I haven't eaten any meat!" He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: "You have eaten the flesh of your brother!"

NEDERLANDS:

"We zaten met de profeet, vrede zij met hem. Toen stond een man op en vertrok, waarop een ander persoon slecht over hem sprak. De profeet zei tegen hem: "Peuter je tanden uit". De man antwoordde: "Waarom? Ik heb toch geen vlees gegeten?" De profeet, vrede zij met hem, antwoordde: "Je hebt het vlees van je broeder gegeten".
