"He is sinning and he should be punished"

سئل النووي رحمه الله : " ماذا يجب على من يقول للمسلم : يا كلب ، أو يا خنزير ، ونحوه من الألفاظ القبيحة هل يأثم ؟. فأجاب : الحمد لله ، يأثم ويعزر ، وعليه التوبة . والله أعلم ".

ENGLISH:

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: What should be done to one who calls a Muslim a dog or a pig and other bad words. Is he sinning?   He replied: Praise be to Allaah. He is sinning and he should be punished, and he has to repent. And Allaah knows best.

An-Nawawi werd gevraagd: "Wat hoort gedaan te worden tegen iemand die ander moslims met namen zoals "hond" en "varken" noemt?" Hij antwoordde: "Alle lof zij aan Allah. Hij is een zondaar en hij hoort ta'zir straf te krijgen! Hij moet berouw tonen en Allah weet het beste".
