"If Allah intends good for a servant"

Ma’roef Al-Karkhie said:

حدثت عن يوسف بن موسى المروزي ثنا ابن خبيق قال سمعت ابراهيم البكاء يقول
سمعت معروفا الكرخي يقول إذا أراد الله بعبد خيرا فتح الله عليه باب العمل وأغلق عنه باب الجدل وإذا أراد بعبد شرا أغلق عليه باب العمل وفتح عليه باب الجدل

ENGLISH:

"If Allah intends good for a servant He opens for him the door of action and closes for him the door of argumentation. Whereas, if Allah intends for a servant evil [once the servant had decided to follow such a path, Allah the Most Him, allows him to take such a path] He opens for him the door of argumentation and closes for him the door of action".

NEDERLANDS:

"Wanneer Allaah het goede wenst voor iemand dan opent Hij de deur tot daden voor hem (en geeft hem tawfeeq om ernaar te handelen) en sluit Hij de deur van discussiëren; en wanneer Allaah het kwade wenst voor iemand dan opent Hij de deur van discussiëren en sluit Hij de deur tot daden".
