"He should answer it even by crawling"

Ar-Rabi bin Khaytham became partially paralyzed. He was told:

يا أبا يزيد، لقد رخص لك، لو صليت في بيتك! فيقول: "إنه كما تقولون، ولكني سمعته ينادي: حي على الفلاح، فمن سمعه منكم ينادي: حي على الفلاح، فليجبه ولو زحفًا، ولو حبوًا

ENGLISH:

"O Abu Yazid! You have been given permission to pray at home (because of your disability)." He said, "You have said the truth, but I heard the caller hearld, 'Hayya `ala al-Falah (Come to the success)', and I thought that whoever hears this call should answer it even by crawling."

NEDERLANDS:

"O AbuYazid! U is toestemming gegeven om thuis te bidden". Hij antwoordde: "U hebt de waarheid gesproken, maar ik hoorde een oproeper die riep: "Haya Ala Al Falah!" (kom tot de redding/succes) en ik dacht dat wie dit hoort ernaartoe moet komen, al moest hij kruipen".
