"His weeping increased until he became ill"

Ibn Al-Qayyim writes:

قرأ عمر مره سورة الطور الى أن بلغ قوله تعالى " ان عذاب ربك لواقع " فبكى واشتد بكائه حتى مرض وعادوه

ENGLLISH:

"Umar (Ibn Al-Khattab) was reciting Surat At-Tur, until he reached the following Words of Allaah: "Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass". (52:7), and he began to weep. His weeping increased until he became ill and people used to visit him due to his illness".

NEDERLANDS:

"Umar (Ibn Al-Khattaab - radiallaahu anhu) reciteerde Surat At-Toer totdat hij de volgende Woorden van Allaah bereikte: "Voorzeker, de straf van uw Heer zal worden voltrokken", en hij begon te huilen. Zijn gehuil werd erger totdat hij ziek werd en mensen bij hem langs gingen op ziekenbezoek".
