"They are men and we are men"

Shaykh Muqbil Al-Wadi'ie said:

فمنهم من نبذهم وقال هم رجال ونحن رجال،
صحيح هم رجال ونحن رجال، ولكن الفرق بيننا وبينهم كما بين السماء والأرض

ENGLISH:

"Amongst the (people) are those who discard the sayings (of the salaf) completely and say: “They are men and we are men.” Yes this is correct; they are men just as we are men, but the difference between us and them is like the difference [in distance] between the heavens and Earth!"

NEDERLANDS:

"En er zijn (mensen) die totaal geen waarde hechten aan de woorden (van de salaf), zeggende: "Zij waren mannen en wij zijn mannen". Saheeh, zij waren mannen en wij zijn ook mannen, maar het verschil tussen ons en hen is zoals het verschil (in afstand) tussen de hemelen en de aarde!"
