"And ink that comes from their pens ..."

Ibn Abdul Barr recited the following poetry:

ومداد ما تجري به أقلامهم * أزكى وأفضل من دم الشهداء
يا طالبي علم النبي محمد * ما أنتم وسواكم بسواء

ENGLISH:

"And ink that comes from their pens;
Is purer and more virtuous than the blood of the martyrs!
O students of the knowledge of the Prophet Muhammad;
You are not without distinction!"

NEDERLANDS:

"En het inkt dat uit hun pennen stroomt;
Is puurder en heiliger dan de bloed der martelaren!
O student van kennis van de Profeet Muhammad;
Jouw waarde is niet te evenaren!"
