"Throw the seeds into the earth"

لقي عمر بن الخطاب أناسا من أهل اليمن . فقال : من أنتم ؟ قالوا : نحن المتوكلون . قال : بل أنتم المتّكلون . إنما المتوكل من يلقي حبة في الأرض ويتوكل على الله عز وجل

ENGLISH:

"Umar Ibn Al-Khattab was in the presence of some Yemeni people (who did not want to work), and he asked: "Who are you?" They said: "We are the mutawakilun", (those who put their trust in Allah), so Umar said: "No, you are the muta'akilun! (those who expect others to feed them)! And as for the mutawakil, he first throws the seeds into the earth and then depends on Allah (to provide for him)".

"Umar Ibn Al-Khattab was in de aanwezigheid van een groep mensen uit Yemen (die niet wouden werken), en hij vroeg: "Wie zijn jullie?", ze zeiden: "Wij zijn de mutawakilun!" (mensen die op Allah vertrouwen), dus Umar zei: "Nee, jullie zijn de muta'akilun! (mensen die van anderen eten!) En de mutawakil, strooit eerst de zaden op aarde, en vertrouwt dan op Allaah (om hem te voorzien)".
