"Then he held out the tip of his little finger"

Haafiz Ibn Kathir said:

رواه الإمام أحمد في مسنده حدثنا أبو المثنى معاذ بن معاذ العنبري حدثنا حماد بن سلمة حدثنا ثابت البناني عن أنس بن مالك عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في قوله (فلماتجلىربه للجبل) قال : قال هكذا يعني أنه أخرج طرف الخنصر

ENGLISH:

"In his Musnad Imam Ahmad recorded from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet said about Allah's saying: "And when his Lord appeared to the mountain", he said: "Like this", then he held out the tip of his little finger".

"Er is een overlevering in de musnad van Imam Ahmad dat teruggaat naar Anas Ibn Malik die de Profeet de volgende 'Ayah hoorde citeren: "En toen zijn Heer Zich aan de berg openbaarde (brak deze in stukken)" (7:143) - waarna hij zei: "Zoiets" - wijzend naar de topje van zijn kleine vinger".
